Hi, Ami! Thanks for stopping by with this great question about two of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort hotels! We frequently stay at both of Disney's Port Orleans Resorts, but I have to say that French Quarter is my favorite. Walking along the street-like pathways of this resort will definitely put you in a New Orleans state of mind. During your stay, be sure to stroll on over to the
Sassagoula Floatworks and Food Factory for some down right Cajun fare, especially the Shrimp & Grits. You may also want to pick up a few Beignets (okay, maybe a dozen!) and a slice of the true Louisiana specialty, King Cake.
Ami, you will really appreciate the small size of this resort when heading to or returning from the theme parks. There is only one bus stop at this resort, found just outside the front of the main building. When my daughter and I stayed there this past December, the buses we traveled on only picked up guests at our resort before heading to its destination. However, I have had instances during other stays there where we did make stops at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside. During each of those instances, the bus picked up/dropped off at French Quarter first before heading to Riverside. This only added a few minutes to our overall travel time, so it really was not an issue for us.
I hope you have a magical stay during your vacation, Ami! Please let us know if we can answer any other questions for you as you continue your plans!
