Greetings, Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney! You're in for a treat – Pixar Place Hotel is such a fun place to stay, with bold colors, whimsical art, themed decor, a winding water slide, and more! Let's make sure you're all set for your upcoming trip.
As a Guest of the
Pixar Place Hotel, you'll enjoy fairly easy access to the theme parks, and that includes the special entrance into California Adventure from the
Grand Californian Hotel. Cross Disneyland Drive at the intersection and enter the hotel's pedestrian gate using your Disneyland Resort hotel key. Walk through the lobby towards Napa Rose, which is adjacent to the entrance. After scanning into the park, you'll be near
Grizzly River Run! I love that peaceful area of the park.
The
Disneyland Monorail is currently closed for refurbishment, and we don't know yet when it will reopen. You can check the
Hours & Events Calendar in the weeks leading up to your visit. It updates on a rolling basis (up to six weeks ahead) with showtimes, planned refurbishments, and more. You can also periodically check the
Monorail webpage to see if additional details are available regarding a reopening date. It's a fun and unique way to enter Disneyland, for sure!
There's a
Downtown Disney District entrance located just a short walk from Pixar Place Hotel. Make your way towards the hotel parking structure, turn right, and walk towards Din Tai Fung and the Downtown Disney LIVE! Stage. That's near the area where you'll catch the Monorail if it's operating. If it's not, you can continue walking past the shops and restaurants to the theme park entrances. It usually takes my family around 10 minutes to stroll to the Esplanade. From Pixar Place Hotel, you could also head into the Grand Californian Hotel and enter the Downtown Disney District from there.
Make sure to leave some time to enjoy the
rooftop deck at Pixar Place Hotel during your stay – it's one of the standout features! Besides the pool, splash pad, and waterslide, there's an interactive games area, fire pits, a little turf area, seating, and great views. You can even head here to watch the Disneyland fireworks if you don't plan on being in the park!
Elizabeth, I hope your trip is full of special moments and happy memories! If you think of any other questions, please reach out – we're always happy to help here at planDisney.
Your pal,
Kriss
