I am staying at Pixar Hotel March 2025. Are we allowed to use Grand California entrances to Downtown Disney and California Adventure? If so, what is the process? Do we just show room key and park ticket?

Hi and welcome back to planDisney, Rob! Your trip is coming up quickly, and I’m thrilled to help you fine-tune the details so you can have the most magical time.

As a guest of the Pixar Place Hotel (and guests of the Disneyland Hotel), you can access both the Grand Californian Downtown Disney and Disney California Adventure (DCA) entrances. No room key or park ticket is required to use the Downtown Disney entrance. However, if you’re entering DCA through the Grand Californian entrance, you’ll need to show your theme park ticket and confirm you have a park reservation for that day. For Early Entry at this entrance, you’ll also need to show your room key, so be sure to keep it handy. My fellow panelist, Tony, discovered that the Grand Californian DCA entrance may experience restrictions during busy times, like Early Entry, regular park opening, or when a special event is kicking off.

Now, I have a Q-Tip for you! My family and I stayed at the Pixar Place Hotel in November and loved using the exclusive Pixar Place Hotel guest entrance to DCA. This special entrance, located right across the street from the hotel, allows guests to enter DCA at any time with their park reservation and room key. It brings you directly into Paradise Gardens Park, near attractions like Goofy’s Sky School and Ariel’s Undersea Adventure. Speaking from experience, being able to stroll back to the hotel for a quick rest or snack was nothing short of magical, especially for tired feet!

Also, don’t forget the Disneyland Monorail! The loading station is located in Downtown Disney, just a few steps from the hotel security entrance. This “highway in the sky” is a delightful way to travel straight into Tomorrowland. It’s also perfect for the end of the day, giving you a chance to soak in one last breathtaking view of the park before you head back.

No matter how you choose to enter or exit the parks, Rob, I hope your visit is truly enchanting. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to visit us again here at planDisney. My fellow panelists and I are always delighted to help!

Wishing you the most magical time,

    David
