    We will be staying out of the park, Do you recommend going back to our room for naps? I hate to miss the 3 pm parades but w/ nap and travel time I didn't know if I could make it. What are your suggestions for this and especially the days parks open at 9.

    Hi Casey,

    I was fortunate that my youngest daughter would take a nap anywhere. Nicole completely missed her first parade in the Magic Kingdom because she fell alspep on my husband shoulder during it. She slept through the parade, Haunted Mansion and the line for It's a Small World. She woke up as we entered the ride and said, "Dollies!" It was priceless.

    However, given your situation, you will be out of the park for at least three hours (hour travel and two hour nap). I really would not leave the park. In order to make sure Nicole could sleep we had our own stroller and her blanket so she could go to sleep. We also would go into a quiet, dark place around her nap time so it relaxed her down. Now while I do LOVE the Hall of Presidents in Magic Kingdom and the American Adventure and Impressions of France in Epcot, these theater shows would always have her sleeping soon as we arrived.

    You could also arrive to the park later in the day or call it an early evening if you are willing to skip the nap to see the parades.

    Honestly, if your child needs the nap, I would keep to his/her schedule. I truly believe this is the best tip any family should follow, and after nine years of traveling with my dear daughters, we still do.
