    Hi there, am staying onsite at Port Orleans French Quarter and will be visiting MK on 12/4/14 (morning EMH). What time does the monorail and ferry start operations? Would like to get to the park before 8am for the Welcome Show. Will be driving.

    Hi Selina,

    You have about 30 days until you are at the Walt Disney World Resort! I hope you enjoy the extra special pixie dust that will be at the parks on your trip. I also encourage you to head out to the resorts because the magic there might be better than the parks.

    All Disney transportation runs one hour prior to the parks opening. This includes buses, the monorail and boats. This allows guests to arrive early to take pictures of the park's entrance, grab a meal with Advance Dining Reservations or see the opening of the park.

    You will definitely need to be at the parking lot by 7:15 to make sure you have a good spot for the opening of the Magic Kingdom. You will need to go from the parking lot to either the monorail or the ferry.

    If you were heading to any other park, driving can be better especially for those early morning times. However, Magic Kingdom's parking is far enough away that I never drive to this park and always rely on Disney's transportation. All transportation leaves you steps away from the magic!
