Hi, Megan! Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question.
Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort opened in 2009, and my family has stayed here many times over the years. In fact, I'm checking in tomorrow, and I cannot wait to hear the words, "Welcome Home!" There are many things to love about this resort, including the amazing Green Clover and Aloe smell in the lobby. I'm happy to provide some details to help make your stay more magical.
With Bay Lake Tower located just steps from
Magic Kingdom Park, it's convenient to pop back to your villa for lunch or dinner. The kitchen has stainless steel full-size appliances and a clever slide-out pocket door pantry (I think I've forgotten a few cereal boxes in here before)! When you arrive, you should find starter packs of dishwasher and laundry detergent, as well as paper towels. There is also a traditional drip-style 12-cup coffee maker with Joffrey's coffee and creamer and sugar packets. Beyond that, no other kitchen staples are provided.
I like to use Garden Grocer, which is the original Walt Disney World delivery service, but there are other options, including Instacart and Amazon Prime Now. Bell Services can store your groceries (and refrigerate your perishable items) until you get to the resort. Just know that if you choose to have
Bell Services deliver your groceries to your room, there will be a small fee.
With all the money you'll save cooking meals in your villa's kitchen, make sure to treat yourself to a fancy meal one night!
California Grill and
Steakhouse 71 are two of my favorite places on Walt Disney World Resort property. You can easily access them by taking the Sky Way Bridge (an elevated outdoor walkway) over to the main building of
Disney's Contemporary Resort.
Mickey and I hope you have a fantastic vacation, Megan! If there's anything else we can do, please feel free to write back. See ya real soon!
