We are staying at OKW and plan to see Hoop Dee Doo and Spirit of Aloha dinner shows. What's the best way to get back to the OKW after the dinner shows? How late do the buses run each night?

    Hi Jamie!

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you have a fabulous vacation planned. A relaxing stay at Disney’s Old Key West Resort and some exciting dinner shows, what fun!

Buses continue to run to resorts an hour after park closing. After Disney’s Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, I would recommend taking the Monorail to the Magic Kingdom. If it was a lovely evening and you enjoy the water taxis as much as we do, you could also take the water taxi to the Magic Kingdom. At the Magic Kingdom you will then take a bus to Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

After you’re done whooping and hollering at the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, you’ll need to employ a similar tactic. You can take a bus or boat to the Magic Kingdom, then transfer to a bus to Disney’s Old Key West Resort. Alternately, you can take a bus to any theme park or Downtown Disney, then transfer to a bus to your resort. Currently, I would think the bus to Downtown Disney would be the fastest option, especially if you attend the late show, as busses to Downtown Disney run later than the theme parks. You could also enjoy wandering Downtown Disney before heading back to Disney’s Old Key West Resort.

Disney is currently testing a new bus route from the Magic Kingdom directly to the Settlement Depot at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort, which is close to the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. This route is testing now, and if the test goes well, this may become a permanent route by the time you visit in October. If this route is available I would recommend this method as the most efficient.

I hope this helps your planning, Jamie! It sounds like you have some great plans started! Please let us know what additional questions we can help you with as you make your magical arrangements!

    Happy Planning!
