We are staying off-site during our October trip to WDW, but plan to dine at the Poly's 'Ohana one evening. My questiong is, are we able to stay at the resort and watch the EWP without being guests of the Polynesian? We have never seen the parade.

Yes. You will be able to stay and watch the Electrical Water Pageant from the shores of the Polynesian, just walk down to the beach and pull up a spot of sand.

If you're taking Disney transportation you won't have to worry about a thing. If you're driving to the Poly, the security guard at the gate may ask you why you've come to visit (a routine thing, no big deal). Simply tell the guard that you're there for dinner and they will let you in. They may then direct you to a specific parking area with a three hour time limit; they'll tell you if this is the case. If you're staying to watch the EWP, just make sure that you're within your parking time.

The sweet little water pageant is one of my favorite things at WDW. I hope you enjoy it too.
