We are staying off property and planning on a day at Magic Kingdom with our 1 yr old. Is parking within walking distance of the park?

Hi, Emily!  The Magic Kingdom is a little bit different to get into compared with the other theme parks.  The actual parking is at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which is about a mile from the Magic Kingdom itself.  From the parking lot, there are two options to choose between in getting inside the Magic Kingdom.

The monorail may be the quicker of the two routes to the Magic.  You'll walk up the ramp, where the monorail platform allows you to wait in a relatively shaded area while you wait for the monorail to come.

Your other option is a ferry boat.  I love the ferry!  It takes a few minutes longer to actually get to the Magic Kingdom, but even on the hottest days, you'll feel a nice breeze, and have the Magic Kingdom to look at as you sail closer.  On chilly days or cool evenings, you'll want to have a sweater or jacket on while you sail on the ferry.

There are trams that run frequently back and forth into the parking lot, so you won't have to worry about walking too far with the baby.  You will have to fold your stroller if you are bringing one while you use the tram.

Have a wonderful upcoming visit to the Magic Kingdom!
