We are staying off property, but are planning a breakfast at Kona Cafe. We will be there mid Oct. Is it possible to take the monorail to Grand Floridian, even though we aren't staying on either property, or are there restrictions due to covid?

    Aloha from Georgia, Lori!

Lori, whether you are having breakfast, lunch, or dinner at Kona Cafe, your visit to Disney's Polynesian Village Resort will transport you to a tropical paradise.

Lori, while you do need a confirmed dining reservation to park at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you are able to take Walt Disney World Resort transportation to other hotels without having to have a confirmed reservation at each. One thing that I must tell you; however, is that the monorail station at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is scheduled to undergo refurbishment in October, and may not be available for your visit.

If you are wanting to travel to Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa you do have two other options.

Your first option is to take the scenic 10-minute walking path that connects the two resorts. I love this option as you get to walk along the water and pass by the Wedding Chapel.

Your second option would be to take the boat to the Magic Kingdom from Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and hop on the monorail there. If you have a monorail enthusiast in your group, like I do, then this may be the option for you.

I hope this helped answer your question, Lori. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help answer any other questions about your upcoming vacation!

    See you real soon!
