We’re staying in a non wdw hotel. I gather parking at Disney Springs is free. Can we still use the complimentary bus service from Disney Springs to resort hotels and the ones from there onto the parks? What time do the buses from DS to the hotels start?

    Hi Dan!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! As the mother of four, finding a transportation method that is both cost-effective and efficient is my specialty! Disney does provide complimentary transportation for Guests staying at Walt Disney World Resort Hotels. This is one of the many reasons I recommend Guests consider staying on-site. There are resorts to fit different budgets and there are often discounts available on the Special Offers Page!

Disney’s transportation for Resort Hotel Guests traveling to Disney Springs begins 45 minutes before opening, which is generally at 10 am. Keep in mind that Disney Springs buses often make additional stops at the Water Parks during daytime hours, and in my experience, since there are fewer Guests in the mornings needing to travel between their Resort Hotels and Disney Springs, bus turnaround times can be a bit longer than typical.

Many of the resorts around the Walt Disney World Resort, such as the Good Neighbor Hotels, offer complimentary transportation to the theme parks. I would inquire with your hotel if this is a benefit they offer to their guests. This would be a low cost and a much more efficient method of reaching the theme parks. Additionally, you could consider using either an Uber or Lyft service. Their websites offer a fare calculator to give you an idea of transportation costs between your hotel and the theme parks. I have used both of these services in the Walt Disney World Resort area, and many locations are under $20 and 20 minutes. This would be both cost-effective and time-efficient so you can make the very most of your day in the theme parks!

    Happy Traveling!
