We are staying 9 nights, 10 days. If we get the DDP when does it become effective and when does it expire? I understand it is only valid for "9 nights" We are arriving early and departing late, just wondering if the dining plan will cover our ent

Hi Sara! Thanks for coming back to visit us here on the Moms Panel to ask another question about the Disney Dining Plan.

The Disney Dining Plan is valid for the number of nights on your reservation package. If you'll be staying 9 nights, then each member of your party will be entitled to one dining plan "credit" (for example, 2 snacks, one quick service meal and one table service meal) for each night of your stay. You can use the dining credits in any order you choose and in any quantity per day you wish up to your total allotted number, based on the type of dining plan you have selected. The dining plan begins when you check in at your resort on the day of your arrival and expires at midnight on the day of departure.

I would recommend that you set up Online Check-in prior to your arrival. You can do this right here on the Walt Disney World Resort website. Online Check-in will save you time by streamlining the process at the front desk of your resort. Since you'll be arriving early (assuming before the regular 3:00 PM check-in time for your resort), your room will likely not be ready for you. However, a very nice feature available at Disney resorts is the option for guests to be notified when their room is ready via an email alert sent to their smartphone. You should be able to check in at the Reception Desk when you arrive early and receive your Key to the World cards (which serve as your resort room key, theme park admission and dining plan). You will also be able to store your carry-on luggage with Bell Services if you want to head out to the theme parks right away!

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
