We'll be staying at the new Bay Lake Tower on May 18th. I've been reading mixed access policies in regards to the "Top of the World Lounge". I've read only DVC members have access. Then I read any BLT guests have access. What is current?

Hi, Kristin!  Currently, the only people who have access to the Top of the World Lounge at Bay Lake Towers are Disney Vacation Club Members, staying at the resort using their DVC vacation points.  Although this information is subject to change, at the present time, no other guests have access to the lounge.

When you wish to visit the Top of the World Lounge - which does offer amazing views of the fireworks at the Magic Kingdom - you check in at the podium in the lobby of the resort.  Your Key to the World Card indicates that you are a DVC member, which verifies your eligibility.  You are then escorted up in the elevator.  They do not take reservations in the lounge, and access is granted on a first come, first served basis.

If you can't gain access to the Top of the World Lounge, there is a balcony at the Contemporary Resort, just off of the fourth floor, where you can get an excellent view.  The monorail tracks are visible, but we've always really enjoyed watching the fireworks from this vantage point.  You'll find several benches out there, and they usually post a security guard during the fireworks.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
