Hi! We are staying at the new Art of Anamation resort in July and have a reservation with Chef Mickey at 7:25am. What time do we need to leave using Disney Resort transportation? Also, when can I make a reservation for the restaurant at the resort?

You are going to love the Art of Animation Resort (AOA)! Walt Disney World offers transportation at least an hour prior to the parks opening. They also often run buses early in the morning so guests can make early morning Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs) However, I have a few suggestions:

    1. Definitely speak with the front desk at the Art of Animation Resort the day prior to your ADR to make sure that the early buses are running the next morning. Since schedules may vary, there may not be an early morning bus. You will want to verify with them to be 100 percent sure.
    2. Since there is not a bus that runs from resort to resort, you will need to take a bus from AOA to the Tickets and Transportation Center (TTC) and then to The Contemporary. This means that you will need to allow at least an hour between when you leave AOA and your ADR.
    3. I would recommend that if you have an early morning character reservation at a resort, not a park, that you either drive or take a taxi from your resort to the ADR. This is because of the time it takes to go from resort to resort and the need to board such an early bus. Have you considered booking an ADR for either Donald's Safari Breakfast at Animal Kingdom or Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom? Those are much easier to arrange early transportation to.
You can begin making your ADRs 180 days in advance, so call 407-WDW-DINE today to arrange all of your ADRs!
