We're staying nearby but offsite and were wondering if we could ride bicycles to the parks. Is there anywhere we could lock up our bikes?

    Hi Rochelle,
So glad you came to see us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I've lived in Central Florida for more than 30 years and have visited the Walt Disney World Resort dozens of times and I've got to tell you, I would not recommend riding your bike from an off-site location to the parks. There are no bike lanes on property on the major thoroughfares and there are many tourists that are paying attention to their GPS units and road signs and unfortunately, they may not see you.

Not to diminish your fantastic idea, I would absolutely encourage bike riding at both the Campsites and Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort. I know that many families like to use bikes to get around (be careful of golf carts, however).

Please note that Florida's State Law mandates that all riders under age 16 must wear a helmet.

I hope this answers your question; please come back and see us again!

    Best Wishes,
    Amy B.
