we are staying 11/16-11/22 and looking to attend the Christmas Party on the 19th. My toddler is 2 when we check in but turns 3 on 11/18. Does he need a party ticket or does the “guest of Mickey” rule apply since you don’t age once

Welcome to planDisney, Stacy! Visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the Holidays is so nice! There's nothing like seeing the parks and our favorite Disney characters dressed up in their Holiday best! Thanks for sending us your planning question.

Mouseketeers who are under the age of three upon arrival to the Resort are Mickey’s special guests, even if they celebrate their birthday during your family's vacation. This means they will not need a valid theme park ticket to enjoy the theme parks with family and friends. He will be good to go for your whole stay!

Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party begins at 7:00 p.m. at the Magic Kingdom Park, but ticket holders can enter as early as 4:00 p.m. There is nothing quite like seeing the “snow” on Main Street, U.S.A. during the party. You’ll be treated to a special holiday parade, with the man of the hour, Santa Claus, in attendance!

Stacy, I hope this information is helpful to you. Please feel free to come back to see us if you have any more planning questions. It's always our pleasure to help you with your plans!
