Jambo, Rick!
Thanks so much for sending your question to planDisney. I’m glad you’re looking into
Sanaa. It’s one of the most unique dining experiences at Walt Disney World Resort!
Located at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas – Kidani Village, Sanaa blends African and Indian flavors with stunning views of the Sunset Savanna. My family has always loved watching giraffes, zebras, and exotic birds wander past the windows while we enjoy our meal; it’s truly one of those "only in Disney" moments!
Now let’s talk about options for picky eaters, because I completely understand wanting to make sure everyone in your group finds something they’ll enjoy. Sanaa offers a Sanaa Burger on its lunch menu, and it’s genuinely one of the tastiest burgers on property. While it typically comes topped with spiced mustard and peppadew-goat cheese, the kitchen is happy to simplify it. You can absolutely ask for it plain, with just the burger and bun, or add lettuce and tomato if that’s preferred. Disney chefs are wonderfully accommodating with custom requests. This burger is only available at lunch, so if it’s a must-have, I’d recommend planning your visit accordingly.
For dinner, or for anyone seeking something simpler throughout the day, the kids’ menu is a great place to look. It usually includes familiar items like cheese pizza, along with mild entrees like fish of the day served with rice or vegetables. For teens or grown-ups, most table service restaurants will allow you to order an adult-sized portion of a kids' entree, but it is usually up to the individual restaurant, so you'll want to talk to your server when you arrive. The butter chicken (my personal favorite) is also a gentle introduction to the menu’s spices, and the kitchen can often adjust these dishes to suit more selective tastes.
If your picky eater would prefer a more traditional quick-service meal, like a classic hamburger or cheese flatbread, you can head over to
The Mara at Jambo House. It’s just a short walk or shuttle ride away and offers straightforward choices in a casual setting. The Mara is also a great place to stop by after dinner for dessert...the Zebra Domes are a must-try!
Best wishes for a deliciously magical vacation,
Eean
