Jambo, Katie, and welcome to planDisney!
There aren't adequate words in the English language to describe the exotic grandeur of Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Your stay at Kidani Village will be educational as well as awe-inspiring. Impactful learning opportunities range from in-room Wildlife Field Guides to
Starlight Safaris (reservations required). I highly recommend that your culinary adventures include the infamous Indian-Style Bread Service at
Sanaa. This dining experience redefines the phrase, "dinner with a view."
When venturing to Magic Kingdom Park from
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani Village for a dining reservation, I recommend allowing 90 minutes of travel time. That may seem like a lot, but let me explain my Mickey math. Buses from Disney Resorts Collection hotels to the theme parks depart approximately every 20 minutes and the ride from Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge to Magic Kingdom Park takes about 20 minutes. Once you arrive at Magic Kingdom Park, you should allow yourself another 20 minutes to get through security, tap in at park entry, and walk to your dining destination. You can check in 15 minutes before your dining reservation and I recommend an extra 15 minutes of wiggle room just in case something doesn't go according to plan.
There are helpful screens at Disney Resort hotel bus stops that display what time the next bus to the parks and Disney Springs will arrive. This information can also be found in the
My Disney Experience mobile app for the Disney Resort hotel at which you are staying (three small lines at the bottom right of the home page --> Resort Hotel --> "See Bus Times"). In my experience, this information can be helpful when determining the best time to leave your room and head to the bus stop.
I hope this information helps you avoid any White Rabbit bus rides, Katie. I've sung, "I'm late! I'm late! For a very important date!" on a Disney bus ride or two, and do not recommend it.
Plan magic; planDisney.
