We are staying in a handicapped royal room Riverview at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside. My mom will be renting a scooter from a preferred Disney ECV partner for our stay. What would be the closest bus stop & closest room to the main building?

Hey, Jennifer! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thanks so much for bringing your question to us! Last summer, I had a bit of an accident just days before my sister and I were flying to Walt Disney World Resort. I ended up in a boot cast, so I rented an ECV from one of the preferred Disney vendors. I had a wonderful experience with the scooter and with how helpful Cast Members were. When you arrive at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside, simply stop by Bell Services and they should have the scooter waiting for your mom. When you are ready to check out, all you need to do is drive it right back over there. They are really easy to use (go just a hair faster than "rabbit" when driving up onto the buses!) and made it so easy to get around the parks.

It is my understanding that all River View Royal Guest Rooms at this resort are found in Parterre Place, building 95 on the resort maps. It looks like there may be one ADA Compliant room on the second floor, but the others are on the first floor in the same general area. So, there really is not one that would put you any closer to other areas of the resort than the others. Your closest bus stop will actually be the South Depot, which is the main bus stop at the Sassagoula Steamboat Company main building. You could also use the East Depot bus stop, found behind Oak Manor and Magnolia Terrace buildings.

Jennifer, be sure to download the My Disney Experience mobile app before your trip. When you load your account information to it, you will be able to see information concerning your stay, particularly bus arrival times at your resort. You may want to keep an eye on it each day to see when may be a good time to head toward the bus stop!

I hope this information helps you plan your pixie-dusted adventure! Please let us know if you have any other questions!
