We are staying at the Grand Floridian and am wondering what is the best way to get to Hollywood Studios before it opens for park guests at 6:00 in the morning.

    Hello Judith!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! The hottest ticket in town is currently a Boarding Group for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The excitement has crowds reaching the theme park hours before opening in an attempt to get a chance to experience this revolutionary new attraction!

Disney buses officially begin running 45 minutes before park opening. So if you will be visiting Disney’s Hollywood Studios during the holidays when park opening hours begin at 6 am, you can anticipate bus service to begin at 5:15  am. This is the most budget-friendly option. If going this route, I would be at the bus stop a bit early in case a bus unexpectedly comes sooner, and because you are likely to meet a lot of fellow Guests doing the same thing that morning.

In my experience, when trying to get to the parks early for a new attraction, if you can arrive before the Disney buses, you may secure a better place in line. I recommend either a Minnie Van, Lyft, Uber, or taxi to arrive at the park even earlier. This past week, Minnie Van hours have been extended to accommodate Guests headed to Disney's Hollywood Studios, and I expect those hours to be extended during the week between Christmas and the New Year, although those hours have not yet been announced. I would speak to Cast Members at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa upon arrival to confirm Minnie Van hours. With Minnie Van, you can ride in safety and style to Disney’s Hollywood Studios and get yourself in line hours before the sunrise!

Wishing you the best of luck with your early morning arrival and may the force be with you!
