Hi Diane! The Grand Floridian is one of my favorite resorts -- you're going to love it! Your room location will depend on the view that you reserved, but one of my favorite buildings is Big Pine Key. It's conveniently located next to the main building and between the two pools. After walking in the parks all day, I like having a hotel room that's close to everything! Conch Key and Boca Chica have lagoon-side rooms with great views of the Magic Kingdom.
The Grand Floridian Resort has lots of fun activities for kids. In the afternoons at the main pool, your kids can participate in trivia and bingo games, crafts, sandcastle building, noodle relay races and karaoke. (You'll receive a schedule of these events when you check in.) In the evenings, there's a campfire on the beach followed by a Disney movie under the stars, which is a nice way to wind down. You can also watch the nightly Electrical Water Pageant and the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from the beach. Make sure you take some time to listen to the live orchestra that plays in the Main Building lobby in the evenings. Your kids may enjoy having a character meal at 1900 Park Fare, which usually features Alice, the Mad Hatter and Tigger at breakfast and Cinderella and the Fairy Godmother in the evenings. You can also book a Pirate Adventure or Wonderland Tea Party at the resort for your kids. You can rent SeaRaycers at the marina and zip around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Click
