I am staying at the Grand Floridian. Is there a coffee shop in the lobby? My research shows that Starbucks won't open until the summer and we will arrive the first week of March. Where in the GF can I order coffee besides room coffee maker?

    Jodi,

So the Grand Floridian has been undergoing some significant renovations to it's public spaces of late. I was there in October, and the good news is that they make the changes as invisible as possible, and they adjust services so that you don't feel like you are being punished for staying there.

In the recent past your best stop for coffee was at the Gasparilla Grill and Games. This was in the main building, just off from the lobby area, but an outdoor walk away. When I was there, however, it was closed for renovations. So the resort moved such offerings to the nearby pool bar. They geared it up to handle more foods and beverages, and I never did I feel like my quick service dining needs neglected. One of these two will be your coffee destination within the resort.

Now neither of these are Starbucks. I don't expect that you will see full-blown Starbucks in the resorts for some time, since they are just now moving them into the parks.

One final suggestion. If you are a real coffee fanatic, consider walking over to your neighbor resort, the Polynesian. They are somewhat famous for having some great java in the lobby and quick service dining area. I think you will find it worth the walk over!

    Have a magical vacation!
