We are staying at the GF in Apr for 5 nights. We are adding 3 nights on property at a different resort. We are looking to just relax,at the pool & take advantage of the hotels amentities and DTD at night. Can't;decided on POR or SSR or something else?

Hi, Joanne!  I find Port Orleans Riverside to be a great resort for relaxing.  Nothing is too far to get to, as the resort is fairly compact.  You'll have a pretty easy walk to the things you want to get to no matter where you are.

The main pool area is modeled after an old swimming hole, complete with a rustic water slide.  There are waterfalls, a pool bar, and lots of chairs to enjoy while you relax.  Boatwright's Dining Hall features some authentic Louisiana inspired foods, usually including such favorites as shrimp and grits and Jambalaya.

Saratoga Springs is a large, sprawling resort, but it is bright and within walking distance of Downtown Disney.  It's not a quick walk, but if the weather is pleasant, it's a nice walk.  The High Rock Springs pool has cascading water over the rocks, and a fun water slide.  The Turf Club Grill has the best Caesar Salad I think I have ever eaten, and the quiet pools are large and lovely!

I think making the decision between the two is up to what you'd like to find.  There are larger rooms at Saratoga Springs, but Port Orleans is easier to navigate walking around.  You'll find more rustic at Port Orleans Riverside, brighter and a bit more contemporary at Saratoga Springs.

You do have a tough decision to make!  I also want to throw Disney's Coronado Springs resort into the mix.  It's a moderate resort with a more deluxe feel, great pool area, good food, and a wonderful place to relax.

    Have a great trip!
