We will be staying at Fort Wilderness for Thanksgiving week, 2016. Is there a detailed map showing the location of premium sites vs preferred sites, etc.? Thanks

Howdy, Susan! Staying at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground during Thanksgiving sounds like a rootin'-tootin' good time! This is one of the few Resorts that my family has not yet stayed. I did take my daughters over there this past Christmas for a Holiday Sleigh Ride and fell in love with the relaxed way of life at the Resort. It brought back such wonderful memories of camping and fishing at the lake with my family as a young girl.

To help me decide on my ideal room category when booking our Walt Disney World Resort hotel, I actually use a great feature on the TouringPlans.com website. They have put together a Room Finder section for each Resort hotel, allowing you to see the view from many rooms and also get a better idea of the location of rooms within each booking category. To see the placement of Premium and Preferred Campsites at your Resort, just head to TouringPlans.com and perform a search for "Fort Wilderness Resort Cabins Room Finder." Once the Resort Overview comes up, click on the blue "Find A Great Room" link towards the top of the page. The Room Finder page contains a great map of the whole Resort. At the left, you will see searchable topics, such as Room Type and various walking distances from key areas of the Resort. Searching for a Standard/Preferred Campsite reveals locations within the 100, 200 and 300 Loops. Standard/Premium Campsites look to be located within the 400 to 1500 Loops. Just remember that this is not an official Disney website, but it should give you a good idea of where you may be located when reserving a room within a certain booking category.

I hope this helps you plan a magical stay, Susan. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
