Hi Elizabeth, and welcome to planDisney!
Fort Wilderness is one of my favorite places at Disney World. I just love this relaxing oasis that’s just a short boat ride away from Magic Kingdom!
While there isn’t one spot on the Disney World website where you can find all of the Fort Wilderness rules, I can help piece together most of the information you’re looking for.
On the
Campsites at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort overview page, you’ll find information on bringing your own RV or golf cart, the pet policy, and decoration rules. Adding flair to your campsite and golf cart makes staying at Fort Wilderness extra fun! It also makes it easier to find your golf cart in the parking areas. My family usually brings painter’s tape and string to hang battery-operated lights and other decorations on our cart without causing any damage.
As far as cooking equipment goes, anything with an exposed flame is not allowed. For example, fire pits must be completely enclosed with a solid metal top that contains the fire while keeping embers and sparks from escaping.
And finally, I recommend checking with a Cast Member at check-in on guidelines around fishing gear and the current quiet hours (the last time I was at the campground, quiet hours were from 10:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.). There are also
guided fishing excursions that you can book for access to a wider range of fishing areas.
Now, let’s chat about your stay! When you’re at Fort Wilderness next month, be sure to carve out some time to hang out at the campground and take advantage of all the fun activities! My family’s favorites are visiting the horses at
Tri-Circle-D Ranch, dancing with our favorite chipmunks at
Chip ’n’ Dale’s Campfire Sing-A-Long, and driving our golf cart around the campsite loops to see everyone’s decorations.
I’m wishing you the most magical stay at Fort Wilderness next month! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome back at planDisney.
