We will be staying at Fort Wilderness Campground in our RV. We would like to visit the parks on our check-out day, but our dogs will be with us. Can we run our generator in the overflow parking lot at Fort Wilderness to keep our dogs safe and cool?

Hello, there, Heather, and welcome to planDisney! Just like Mickey adores Pluto, I love my dog, Charley. And since I'm also an RV camper, I understand your concern with keeping your canine companions comfy. As you know, pets are allowed at The Campsites and Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort, so your pups will have a blast on their vacation. Can dogs eat churros? Maybe that's another question for planDisney! For now, let's see what options you have on checkout day to get the most out of the magic.

Heather, I spoke with a friendly Cast Member who also loves dogs, and she said that you are welcome to park your RV in the overflow parking lot and head to the parks, but unfortunately, you cannot leave a generator or your doggies unattended. But don't worry! This planDisney panelist is quite the bloodhound, and I found another option for you.

Best Friends Pets Hotel is a Disney-affiliated pet care facility at Walt Disney World Resort. This hotel for furry friends offers pet play time, special cuddles, and more. I am confident Mickey ensures all the pets there are treated like royalty. Feel free to call them for more details and schedule a day of pampering for your pooches!

I hope your upcoming camping adventure is paw-fectly magical, Heather! Please stop by planDisney anytime. And happy tails...I mean trails!

    Magic awaits,
    Elaine
