Hello! We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins in March with our dogs. Can you tell me how mousekeeping is handled? We will have our dogs in the cabin while we are away at the parks.

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Lesley! You are less than a month away from your magical stay at the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort! I’m so excited for you! It’s my absolute favorite place to stay when I visit with my family and my dogs.

I just visited this lovely, frontier-themed resort with my family last December. Our canine family members also joined in the fun! They loved hanging out with the rest of the family on the deck of our cabin during mealtimes!

Here’s how housekeeping will work during your visit with your furry family. Housekeeping staff will not enter your cabin if the dogs are inside. When they are left alone in the cabin, you are required to put the “do not disturb” hanger on the door handle to alert Cast Members that dogs are present.

In order to be able to have a Cast Member come in to tidy up, you will have to make an appointment with Housekeeping. Just dial the Housekeeping button on your in-room telephone to schedule a time. This can be a daily appointment, or you can have housekeeping visit every other day. Whatever works best for you. While the Cast Member is tidying up, you can take your dogs on a nice walk to enjoy the property, or they can spend some time with you on the deck of your cabin.

Lesley, be sure to check out the recreation at your resort. My family loved spending time with Chip ‘N’ Dale during their campfire sing-a-long!

Don’t hesitate to stop by again with any additional questions. Have a magical visit!
