Sonia,
Thanks for your question!
So I love the idea of a few nights at one of those great Disney Resorts with just time to explore the resort, relax before the cruise, splash around at the water parks and take in some of the amazing restaurants. I have never taken a trip where I went to both
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park and
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park on the same trip. Each have their own unique and fun features. I will have to plan that NOW!
Unfortunately the
Disney Dining Plans do require that you have a Disney Resort Hotel Package that includes room and theme park tickets. So while the answer is no, I think that there are other ways to save on your dining costs, and have some fun in the process. What my family likes to do is skip on so many table service restaurants and instead eat like we are at Epcot's World Showcase. Let me explain.
We hop on the Magic Kingdom Monorail loop, stopping at each resort. We start at the
Disney's Polynesian Village Resort and get an order of sushi from
Kona Island to share. Next stop, the
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa for one of the great sandwiches at the
Gasparilla Island Grill, and then for dessert either a Mickey Bar at
Disney's Contemporary Resort or we go back to the
Pineapple Lanai at the Polynesian for a Dole Whip!
They now have the
Highway in the Sky Dine Around that is designed on the same idea, but my way is a bit easier on the budget, and give more time to explore the resorts!
Have a Magical (and delicious) Vacation!
