I am staying in a family suite at AoA at end of January. I am on a prescription medication that must be stored in refrigerator. I am worried about keeping the medication safe during our stay. Am I able to request a refrigerator?

Welcome to planDisney Thomas! As one of the physicians on the panel, I decided to grab the question that had to do with medications! I understand how traveling with medications adds a step to travel planning, but Mickey and company make it easy to enjoy your trip and keep your prescriptions temperature-controlled.

The Family Suites at Art of Animation Resort are some of my favorite on property because of the space and amenities they offer. Each of the suites has a kitchenette, which includes a dorm-sized refrigerator that will be ready for your medication's arrival. The fridge also has a small freezer section (in case you need to travel with freezer packs). You will also have a bar-sized sink, microwave, and coffee maker to help get those mornings started!

If you need to refill your prescriptions or additional care, there are options in and out of the parks. AdventHealth is the official medical provider for Walt Disney World, and it offers a variety of services to guests, including prescription delivery at certain resorts and virtual visits. If you are in the parks, there are staffed First Aid Centers in each one. The staff is excellent, and the process is very efficient (with twin boys, we've visited a time or two!). They can also store medication that needs refrigeration if you need to bring your prescriptions with you to the parks.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to stop by again. I hope you have a magical vacation.
