We are only staying at DW for 2 days and would like to stay next to the Magic Kingdom. Which of the resorts near the MK would be best for a 2 year old? It appears that the resorts on the monorail are geared toward older kids.

    Michelle,

I wouldn't say that the hotels along the monorail track (Polynesian, Grand Floridian, and Contemporary) are more or less geared to one age of children. It is more about the location, and the budget, than anything else. As a matter of fact the Polynesian is my favorite place to take my 1 and 3 year olds.

These are the most expensive resorts on property. If they are OK for your budget, I would recommend them extremely highly for your visit. being able to monorail (or boat) over to the Magic Kingdom at will is a great timesaver, especially for when you come back for an afternoon nap/pool break.

You could also consider the Wilderness Lodge, which is a boat ride from the Magic Kingdom, and a bit less expensive than the monorail resorts.
