Hi! I will be staying at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort in August. Can you tell me if I will be able to run on the property during the construction there? I usually run 3-4 miles, and wouldn't mind a one-mile loop. Thank you!

    Hi Cari!

You are my soul sister! I also love running when I'm at Walt Disney World. There is no better way to take in the sites and see the resort than running! As you know Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort will be under refurbishment beginning May 2017. Several villages within the resort will not be available.

Also, Old Port Royale Food Court, Shutters at Old Port Royale, Cabana Pool Bar and Calypso Trading Post will be closed. However, don't worry, there are new food options at the resort, including Centertown Food Truck and Island Markets. There is also a mobile merchandise shop.

Part of the jogging path will also be closed. The path from Martinique to the dining and pool area is not available. However, you can certainly still go on your run and get 3-4 miles in. You can run along the path up to the construction sign and then turn around and run back. You can also run along the paths between the villages.

Although not an official Disney website, you can check out yourfirstvisit dot net for a great overview of the Caribbean Beach construction and closures. They also have a new resort map on the site.

I hope you have a magical vacation!
    Magically,
    Stacy
