We will be staying at Disney's Beach Club, I paid for a Water View Room. Do I need to request a Water View in my room request? Also what are the pros and cons of a highest floor request. Really want a view.

    Ahoy there, Marcee!

You are about to stay at one of my favorite Walt Disney World Resort Hotels! It’s all about the location for me, a quick five-minute walk in one direction is EPCOT’s International Gateway (with the Disney Skyliner!). Approximately a 15-minute walk or 10-minute boat ride in the other direction lands you smack in the middle of Batuu! For my kiddos, the Resort is all about the pool; Stormalong Bay is a delight!

If you’ve reserved a Water View Room, you will have a view of gorgeous Crescent Lake or the pools. (No worries about requesting a water view, it is locked in with your room category). There are three on the property, Stormalong Bay and Disney’s Beach Club Resort pool face Crescent Bay, while the Dunes Cove pool is at Disney’s Beach Club Villas (but is open to all Resort Guests).

If you would like a view, I would request a south-east facing room on the 4th or 5th floor. That area faces Crescent Lake, and if you are on a high level, sometimes you get a great view of EPCOT’s firework spectacular! If you would like convenience, then the closer to the ground, the better! Less walking time all around. Remember, even though Cast Members will do their best to honor your wishes, a request is just that, a request, and not guaranteed.

Regardless of which Water View you have, on one evening of your visit, please head to the lake and watch the sunset. One of our favorite things to do is walk to Disney’s BoardWalk to grab a treat from Ample Hills Creamery, and then take a leisurely walkabout to enjoy the sunset. I promise the magic will be palpable. If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back!
