Hi Melanie, and thanks for bringing your question to planDisney. Staying at Disney World before and after your cruise sounds like the practically perfect holiday! So let’s chat about what to do with luggage while you’re on your high-seas adventure.
Bell Services at Disney Resort hotels can store bags on your check-in and check-out days, but they’re not able to hold luggage while you’re not staying at the resort. However, Hakuna Matata! I have a couple of other options that might help.
If you decide to take your bags on the cruise, there’s a surprising amount of storage space in Disney Cruise Line staterooms, and you can usually fit multiple large suitcases under the bed. If you’re planning to put more than two bags underneath, keep in mind that it’ll be harder to access luggage in the back, so you’ll probably want to transfer the items in those bags to the drawers and closet.
Another possibility is to pack less for your trip and do
laundry while you’re on the ship. I used the 24-hour self-service laundry room on board the Disney Wish, and it was super convenient with plenty of machines! If you’d rather not spend time washing clothes on vacation, there’s also full-service laundry and dry cleaning available, with pickup directly from your stateroom.
Finally, if you’d prefer to leave some bags behind, you might want to look into one of the many third-party luggage storage companies in the Orlando area.
Before I go, I wanted to share one last tip. Be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app for planning tools while you’re still at home. Once you’re on board, the app makes it easy to view the cruise schedule (so you don’t miss any of the fun activities!) and chat with family and friends.
I hope you have a magical land and sea holiday next year! And if you have any other questions, you’re always welcome at planDisney.
