I am staying at Disney World for the marathon weekend. My dog will be joining me on marathon Sunday after the race before we fly home later that day. Where will we be able to eat with the dog on Disney World grounds? We won't have a hotel room then.

    Hi John,

Welcome to planDisney. While Pluto can be spotted roaming all over Disney World, Disney does not allow people to bring their pets to any of the theme parks or Disney Springs unless it is a qualified service animal.

If you need somewhere for your best friend to hang out while you have a good time, Best Friends Pet Care is available to pamper them while you play. They offer overnight and daytime boarding with lots of extra amenities: grooming, playtime, cuddle time, walk and explore time, and ice-cream breaks. Your pooch is sure to have a blast while you recover from your well-won marathon finish.

Disney World has several pet-friendly Resort hotels: Disney's Art of Animation Resort, Port Orlean's Resort - Riverside, Yacht Club Resort, and The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. Even though pets can be accommodated at these Resort hotels, they are still not allowed in common spaces like restaurants and pools at the resort. There are fabulous welcome amenities for your friends and good, clean areas for them to walk and use the restroom.

Don't forget that traffic is a little messy on runDisney weekends, so whoever is dropping off your dog will need to be patient when wading through traffic to reunite the two of you. It may be better to plan a meeting place that is a little further from the race route to ensure a smooth drop-off.

    Happy Planning,
    Jenna
