Heigh-ho, Heidi!
So glad to see you here at planDisney with your question. I'm happy to help!
January 9, 2024, was a big day at Walt Disney World Resort as
all-day park hopping returned and dining plans once again became available for guests looking to enjoy some pre-paid feasting during their vacation. I haven't used a dining plan personally, but I was glad to do a little dig, dig, digging, like our Dwarf friends in the mines, to uncover a gem of information for you.
It appears that dining plans can only be added to room and ticket Vacation Packages online. I went through the process of booking a resort room without tickets and sure enough the checkout screen did not give me the option to add either the
Disney Quick-Service Dining Plan or the
Disney Dining Plan to my stay. As an
Annual Passholder, I often make resort reservations without purchasing additional theme park tickets so I wondered if I'd be left to pay for all my meals on the fly on my next visit. I reached out to a Cast Member who confirmed that Annual Passholders would need to inquire by phone about adding a dining plan to a resort-only reservation.
If you are in the same situation you'll need to contact a Cast Member at 407-939-7639 to inquire about your dining plan options. They will be able to review any stipulations or restrictions and assist you in booking the plan, if available. I'm wishing that you'll be able to dine to your heart's delight on your next stay. If you are successfully able to add a dining plan, note that certain Table-Service Meals, like
Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White, will require two meals for redemption. Just be sure to avoid any poison apples and magic mirrors!
I hope this helped, Heidi. Please come back and see us again with more planning questions. I'm wishing you a smile and a song on your next visit, which I hope is the fairest of them all!
Remember, you're the one who can fill the world with sunshine,
Amy
