Hi Lorri, welcome to planDisney!
You're planning a visit to
The Most Magical Place on Earth during
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. I recommend commemorating this jolly holiday with a personalized ornament from
Disney's Days of Christmas in Disney Springs or
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe in Magic Kingdom Park. My family's Christmas tree is full of not-so-hidden Mickeys that represent cherished family memories.
Oh, there's no place like [the monorail resorts]
for the holidays. Disney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa are dining, shopping, and ambiance destinations year-round, and their holiday décor enhances their natural beauty. The holiday trees are literally the biggest showstoppers of all. Each is well-suited to its environment and the perfect backdrop for memorable holiday photos. Unique gingerbread displays like the Gingerbread Castle at Disney's Contemporary Resort and the iconic life-size Gingerbread House at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa fill the senses with sweetness. Seasonal treats like
last year's Candy Cane Latte and Stitch Holiday Dome from the
Kona Island Coffee Bar make great grab-and-go snacks for a monorail stroll. There was even a Christmas Feast available at Capt. Cook's and Contempo Café. Keep an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog for this year's Festive Foodie Guide.
You are welcome and encouraged to visit the monorail resorts during your stay, Lorri. As a Disney Resort hotel Guest, you can take your resort's complimentary bus
transportation to Magic Kingdom Park, where you can travel around the resort loop by monorail, foot, or even boat.
Disney's Minnie Van service is also a great option for resort-to-resort travel. Expect crowds, and remember that the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.
Enjoy your trip "home" for the holidays, Lorri. Please return to planDisney with any other trip-planning questions.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
