Howdy, Tim.
As a fellow dog parent, I completely understand wanting to bring your furbaby along with you on your magical Walt Disney World Resort adventure. Luckily,
Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground welcomes dogs with open paws ... err, arms! Be sure to stop by the Front Desk at The Outpost when you arrive to add your pups to your reservation and to pay the $5 per-night pet fee (amount subject to change). You’ll definitely want to read the resort’s full pet-friendly policy before your arrival to make sure you are following all guidelines, but hooray for being able to experience the magic together! I spoke with a friendly Cast Member at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and was told you are more than welcome to use your dog pen/fence during your stay. However, your dogs will still need to remain on a leash at all times when outside the interior of your camper.
While you're off emBARKING on a fun-filled day at the theme parks, keep an eye out in the gift shops for some of the items you can purchase for your dogs. I’ve seen toys, harnesses, leashes, and more that are sure to get a tail-wag or two. However, if you’re looking for a truly unique souvenir, stop by the
Silhouette Portraits Cart in Magic Kingdom Park. If you provide them a side profile picture of your pooches, the incredible silhouette artists can create a truly unique masterpiece of your furbabies. My husband and I did this with pictures of our dogs in July, and their portraits are our favorite purchase at the parks, by far.
I hope this information helps you breathe a great, big, beautiful sigh of relief, Tim. Please stop by planDisney again with any future questions. We are more than happy to fetch another answer for you.
Believe in the magic,
Alyssa
