Staying at Disney contemporary. Can we pool hop? with dining plan can any priced entrée be ordered? What floor in contemporary resort is best view for fireworks?

    Hi, Cathy!

You are going to love staying at Disney's Contemporary Resort. With such a quick walk to the Magic Kingdom, you will never want to stay anywhere else!

Each resort has its own pool(s) for the exclusive use of the guests of that particular resort. You will unfortunately not be able to pool hop, but luckily you have a beautiful pool area overlooking Bay Lake so I think you will be quite happy with the pools, water slide, and splash area right in your own "backyard!"

When you are on the Disney Dining Plan, you can order from any entrée on the menu. Remember though, Signature Dining locations (for example, California Grill at the Contemporary) will require two credits per guest to dine at that restaurant. Also, read the menu carefully if you are "adding on" an extra like shrimp or lobster to your main dish as this many result in an up-charge.  Ask your server if you have any questions about what is included in your meal.

As far as the fireworks viewing goes, if your Tower Room has a theme park view, you will be able to see Wishes from your balcony.  If you do not have a theme park view, there is an observation deck on the 4th floor with a wonderful view.  When I stayed in the Tower, we had a 6th floor room and the view of the fireworks was amazing. I'm guessing the higher the floor, the view gets even better!  Hmm, I think I better stay at the Contemporary one more time to try out a higher floor (for research purposes, of course!)

As an added bonus, I think Contemporary has some of my favorite shops! I love Fantasia Gifts and BVG.  I never seem to walk out of either shop without some new fun "must have" souvenir!  If your schedule allows, also book a super fun buffet meal at Chef Mickey's! A delicious breakfast might be a great way to start off one of your magical days in the parks.

Enjoy your stay at Disney's Contemporary Resort!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
