Hi Andrew! Welcome to planDisney!
I'm excited to hear about your upcoming trip to the
Walt Disney World Resort! Celebrating the new year at the Most Magical Place on Earth sounds like a dream come true! Let's dive into your question and help you get set for an unforgettable trip.
While official information for New Year's Eve celebrations has not been released just yet, we can look at what Disney has done in years past. Typically, there is no special ticket required to ring in the new year at the Magic Kingdom. Guests with regular park tickets visit the Magic Kingdom and stay until it closes. Park hours are usually expanded on this night to allow Guests to enjoy the park for a longer period of time. Currently, with date-based tickets,
theme park reservations are not required when planning your stay. I would keep in mind that if the park reaches capacity, Guests will not be allowed to enter during this period, regardless of whether they have a park ticket or not. This has happened in the past on New Year's Eve at a few parks, and you should be notified on the
My Disney Experience App if you have it downloaded to your mobile device.
Andrew, you'll be happy to know that much of the festive decor will still be out and on display throughout the parks and resorts. You'll be able to soak in as much of the
holiday offerings and festive flair as you can!
I hope you have a magical time during your stay!
