We will be staying for 4 days and 3 nights at a Disney Resort in March. We plan to do a park day on the day that we check out. Will I be able to book Lightning lanes for this day 7 days ahead as we would still be considered a Resort guest?

    Hi Chelsea!

Welcome to planDisney! I love that you're planning to keep the fun going up until the very last second.

I’m happy to let you know that you will be able to book Lightning Lanes for your checkout date!

Since you’ll be a Disney World resort guest, you’ll be able to purchase and book your Lightning Lanes for your entire trip (including your checkout date) beginning at 7 AM Eastern, 7 days prior to your check-in date. Just make sure you have your resort reservations and park tickets linked to your My Disney Experience account before that booking window opens so it all goes smoothly.

I’ve found that booking my Lightning Lanes for my park days at the end of my trip first gives me a better chance at snagging some of the harder-to-get Lightning Lanes. So, depending on which park you’ll be ending your trip with, you might actually want to book those Lightning Lanes first when your booking window opens!

Another special way to end your trip could be by enjoying a character meal. One last “see ya real soon!” to Mickey or his friends. In your case, you can take advantage of booking a character meal at the parks. On our last big family trip, we spent the morning at Magic Kingdom and had a late breakfast at The Crystal Palace.  My boys loved seeing the characters one last time before heading home, and we all had full stomachs for our travels. It worked out great!
