Hi, Tony! At nearly twice the size of Manhattan, Walt Disney World Resort has a multitude of complimentary transportation options, and sometimes it's hard to figure out which one to take. Never fear...you've come to the right place, and the Disney Parks Moms has you covered!
Guests of select Walt Disney World Resort hotels can utilize
water taxis and ferries to get to their destinations, and this would be the easiest and most direct way to get to your dining reservation. Just head on out to the Contemporary Boat Dock, and take the water taxi called the "Blue Flag Launch," which runs from 6:45 AM until one and a half hours after Park closing. This boat stops at Disney's
Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground,
Disney's Contemporary Resort, and
Disney's Wilderness Lodge, and it runs this route continually throughout the day; the ride probably takes 20 minutes to make the whole loop. It is a scenic way to see the
Seven Seas Lagoon, and, if you're lucky, you may pass by the
Electrical Water Pageant on your way back to your resort in the evening!
The Marina at Disney's Contemporary Resort also has
watercraft rentals, which make for a fun afternoon activity if you need a break from the Parks. We rented Sea Raycers during our trip this summer, and it was a great way to explore the Seven Seas Lagoon. My boys loved floating by and getting a close-up view of the former Discovery Island!
I hope you have a magical trip, Tony!
