Staying at Contemporary 5/27-6/2 with my son. If we wanted the convenience of Chef Mickey's do I need to make reservations each day or can we assume we could get in without a reservation? What other places nearby can we count on for breakfast each day?

I completely understand the convenience of having your breakfast close to "home."

Chef Mickey's is one of the most popular restaurants at Walt Disney World. Reservations are hard to come by and walk-ups are rare. If you want to be able to eat at Chef Mickey's every day, then you should make a reservation for every day.

There are other good alternative in and around the Contemporary. If you'd like a quick counter-service breakfast, try the Contempo Cafe, which is located right next to Chef Mickey's. If you want a sit-down breakfast, you could eat at the Wave, located on the first floor of the Contemporary. The Wave is rarely full and often takes breakfast walk-ups. I was a breakfast walk-up at the Wave myself a few weeks ago. I had an eggs, bacon, and sweet potato hash plate that was out of this world. It really was one of the tastiest breakfasts I had had in a long time.

Also close to the Contemporary are the breakfast options at the other hotels on the monorail line including the character meals at the Polynesian's Ohana and the Grand Floridian's 1900 Park Fare.

    Have a great vacation.
