According to the
Digital Expo & Event Guide for the
Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend, World Drive and Seven Seas Drive to the Contemporary Resort will be closed on Saturday, January 10th, from 4:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. If it would be helpful to look at a map, click on Weekend Events at the top and then the box for the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. On this page, you’ll find the Road Closure map for the race.
I spoke to a Cast Member who recommended talking to the front desk when you check in at the Contemporary Resort. They’ll be able to discuss the best options for parking that night.
My family loves staying at the
Contemporary Resort since it’s just a short walk away from Magic Kingdom. It’s also home to one of my favorite activities—renting a
motorized boat. It’s such a fun way to explore Seven Seas Lagoon and the waterways around Magic Kingdom! You can bring your own non-alcoholic drinks and snacks on board, and can even play music from your phone using their Bluetooth speakers.
If you’d like to preview the fun activities going on at the resort, the activities schedule is on the
Recreation section of the Contemporary Resort page. There’s a complimentary Pickleball Clinic, Disney Fit Yoga class, and Silent Disco, just to name a few! Earlier this year, I did Magic of Mosaics with my friends and made a unique souvenir to take home. At the Contemporary Resort, they have an exclusive five-legged goat shape inspired by the
mural near the monorail platform.
