staying at CBR from 4/17-4/23 attempted to make ADR for us at Chef Mickeys, nothing was available for our entire visit. How difficult is it to eat without ADR at Chef Mickeys or any of the other other resturants on the Deluxe dinning plan

    Hi Shannon,

With the popularity of the Disney Dining Plan, it has become increasingly more important to make an Advance Dining Reservation (ADRs) when planning a table service meals. Also, the number of guests and the time of day make it a challenge for a reservation at particular restaurants.

If you are are calling Disney Dining or making a reservation online, try a bigger range of times such as between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm. Also, look at late lunch versus a dinner to find availability. The week you are going is during a popular school vacation so some guests have made dining reservations almost six months ago. This vacation period will also increase the need for ADRs.

If you are still looking at Chef Mickey's, you can continue to call and look online for openings as guests change their minds. In addition, your concierge at your resort can help with reservations as well.

Since I am not sure if you are interested in the restaurant or the characters, another place to see Mickey is at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom for breakfast. This is a family favorite at my house. If you want to go to Chef Mickey's because you are touring Magic Kingdom, you can try the Wave, Whispering Canyon Cafe or Ohana's for dinner as well.

I hope you have a magical dining experience!
