Hi! We will be staying at Caribbean Beach, but want to have some yummy beignets from P.O. French Quarter. Would it work to stop there after Downtown Disney? How late is Sassagoula open? Will the beignets work as a dining plan snack? Thanks!

Hi, Michelle!  You are a woman after my own heart!  I would almost walk from my house in Jersey to Walt Disney World just for the beignets (and a DoleWhip, a turkey leg, and a Mickey ice cream bar - since I'm walking so far)!

Sassagoula Fireworks is usually open until midnight, and the bakery counter, where you will find the beignets, is generally open that late as well.  You might want to make a quick call while you're down there, just to confirm nothing unusual is going on, but the posted time is midnight.  That should be plenty of time to enjoy a visit to Downtown Disney and head over for a beignet bedtime snack!

And you're in luck - they count as a snack on the Disney Dining Plan!  While this is subject to change (I don't know if you're going in 2012 or 2013, so I can only go by the current offerings on the dining plan), this is one of the very best snack values I have found at Walt Disney World.

So go, have fun, and enjoy a beignet for me!
