We will be staying at Caribbean Beach in May of 2025. We will have one person who will need to have a scooter to ride around the resort / parks. I know the resort doesn’t have elevators. Will they be able to accommodate the scooter?

Hey there Gina, it's always great to have you here at planDisney!

As you look ahead to your future tropical surroundings at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort next year, it's great that you've already been coming to planDisney for advice and answers. My father uses mobility aids and accessibility is definitely at the top of our considerations, so I can understand the concern about how accommodating the Disney Resorts Collection hotels can be for anyone looking to use an ECV or Electric Conveyance Vehicle throughout their stay.

You'll be happy to hear that Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort has several accessible room types that you can filter for when you check room rates, and wheelchair-accessible rooms are found on the first floor of the buildings they're located in. (Nevertheless, some folks who don't book an accessible room directly still like to put in a request to ensure that they're getting a room on the ground floor - which is very important when you're staying somewhere that doesn't have any guest elevators!) Past planDisney Panelists have reported that if your room might not have the space to fit the ECV comfortably, you may have luck with a nearby charging station in the hallway but I recommend chatting with the Cast Members you encounter to see what they'd recommend is safest.

Since it looks like you're also looking forward to spending time at the theme parks, getting a room closer to the Disney Skyliner at either end of the Jamaica and Aruba sections of Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort means being able to roll in for a convenient flight over to Disney's Hollywood Studios or over to EPCOT via the station at Disney's Riviera Resort. Keep coming back to planDisney again for any more tips, as you count down the days to your upcoming trip and stay tuned to the Disney Parks Blog for all of the news and updates of everything coming to Walt Disney World Resort before you get here!

Here's to a swell Caribbean stay under the sun on your next Disney adventure!
