Welcome back to planDisney, Alexandra!
My family often travels to Walt Disney World Resort with my in-laws, who also have some mobility issues. So we have quickly learned the ins-and-outs of planning a Walt Disney World vacation with an ECV in-tow.
Accessible rooms are located throughout
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort and can primarily be found in the Barbados, Jamaica, and Aruba sections of the resort. If you are looking to be located close to the
Disney Skyliner, you will want to request an accessible room in the Jamaica section. If you are planning to spend a lot of time in the main building of Old Port Royal and plan on lounging by the feature pool, you may want to request a room closer to Barbados.
All wheelchair accessible rooms will be located on the first floor.
Alexandra, your ECV may or may not fit inside the hotel room, depending on its size. While we did find that there is plenty of space behind the door to park the ECV, we found that it was easier to park the ECV in the hallway, if your mobility situation allows. We always found a convenient charging station outside the room and although the hallways are outdoors, they are covered and protected from the elements. Just be sure to bring your key!
Alexandra, I am not sure if you are, but if you are looking to rent a scooter during your visit, did you know that ScooterBug is currently the only
Disney Featured Provider? This means that ScooterBug will be able to drop off your rental at Bell Services, so that you do not have to be present to coordinate pick-up.
I hope that this helped, Alexandra. Please come back here to planDisney if we can help make your vacation practically perfect in every way.
See you real soon!
