When staying at The Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort can I drive my rental car to the parks from my cabin? Or is it mandatory to have a golf cart and take buses?

Welcome back to planDisney, Kaitlyn! I'm happy to know that you have a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort in the works for this Summer! Thanks for sending us your planning question.

The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort is my family's favorite place to stay when we visit. You can absolutely drive your rental car to all four theme parks and can park it in the standard parking area for free. Disney hotel guests do not have to pay for standard parking during their visits!

Golf carts are not mandatory, but they sure do make it fun to get around the Fort! Renting a cart is easy and you can do so nearly a year before you arrive. Just be sure to keep your resort confirmation number handy, because the Cast Member who takes your reservation for the cart will need it for you to be able to book your cart. Only guests staying at the Fort are able to make golf cart reservations

Kaitlyn, I hope this information is helpful to you as you continue to put those finishing touches on your trip. Please feel free to come back to see us if you have any more questions. It's always our pleasure to help you with your plans!
