We are staying at the Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort , Thanksgiving week. We have family in the area that would like to spend Thanksgiving day with us. What steps should I take to make sure they are allowed into the gate?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Cheryl! Great minds think alike! My family and I (doggies included) will also be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort and staying at the Cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort over the Thanksgiving Holiday this year!

Having a full kitchen, complete with a cook top, convection microwave oven and dishwasher in your cabin, makes it so easy to entertain during your visit to the most magical place on earth.

I just made a phone call about this, because I will be having family over to have thanksgiving dinner at our cabin. I was advised to call the Front Desk from my cabin telephone and let them know that I will have family visiting. Once your guests arrive, they should give the security guard at the Front Gate your full name and cabin number. Your guest can park at the main parking lot near the entrance and you can pick them up. If you are not occupying the spot in front of your cabin, they can park there.

Speaking of picking your guest up at the front parking lot, you can always use a golf cart to do so! It's my favorite way to get around the property!

Cheryl, I already made my golf cart reservation for my November trip. Remember that a quick call to (407) 824-2742 is all it would take to reserve your cart ahead of time. Or you can visit the Reception Outpost to check for availability when you arrive.

I hope you have a wonderful Holiday visit. If you have any more questions, don’t hesitate to come back to see us. It’s our pleasure to help you with all the details of your next magical vacation!
