Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, James!
Walt Disney World Resort has so many different transportation options. With buses, boats, and monorails, just getting around is an experience itself. The debut of the new
Skyliner system scheduled to begin operating this fall adds another unique option for guests. Utilizing the
complimentary transportation system is generally very efficient. You are correct that traveling between Resort Hotels, such as Disney's Beach Club Resort and Animal Kingdom Lodge, will require a transfer at a Theme Park or Disney Springs. You'll find many different opinions on the best way to transfer. Some feel the best way is to hop on whatever bus happens to arrive first at the Resort Hotel depot, and transfer wherever that bus is going. Others choose to transfer at the location that is closest to their ultimate destination. With bus wait times now available on display screens at your Resort Hotel bus stop and in the My Disney Experience mobile app, you'll be able to determine when buses to various destinations are due to arrive. Of course total travel time will vary depending upon traffic conditions and how long you'll need to wait for a bus to arrive. In my experience, I have found it is usually a bit quicker to transfer at a Theme Park instead of Disney Springs. For expedited travel, you might consider Disney's
Minnie Van service (cost involved for this service.) This is a fun, efficient way to travel door to door.
Enjoy your stay!
